Sunday Coupon Preview

Daily Challenge
Today we have a lot planned(so don't expect many posts I only have a dumb phone haha), but one of the first things I will be doing today is going to ZUMBA! I have been throwing around the idea for awhile and our budget and my motivation just never met up. Well, today I have "fit" it in our budget and I am definitely motivated to go make a fool of myself. So today's challenge is to try something new whether it is a different restaurant, letting your husband picking the movie, or trying a new activity, just do something different today.

Mommy Tips & Tricks~ Dentist
A few weeks ago our daily challenge was to make an appointment, well I so happened to make one for the dentist. So yesterday my husband and I took our daughter to her first dentist visit. I was excited and anxious to see how she would react. As the day approached I began to think what things would make it exciting versus scary for her. I knew the big chair, the tools, strange people, and massive light would intimidate her since she is very shy.
So a few days before I began making a big deal that we were going to see the dentist. I tried to make it sound fun, by telling her she was big now so the dentist could count how many teeth she had. Also, that they may try to tickle her teeth. The biggest thing was I let her wear her sunglasses. This had a dual purpose. First, it kind of helped her to "hide". It may have been an illusion, but it worked. Second, it helped keep the light out of her eyes when she was on the "big chair" as she would call it. As adults we just take for granted that we can look away from the light or at least not directly in it. Toddlers don't rationalize that way so the sunglasses helped eliminate the problem.

So looking around today I was wondering what I should attempt to get done today. I have a teething crabby baby and a to do list as long as I am tall. However, as I looked around the one thing that stood out to me was my table. I have a small 4 foot table that I utilize to pretty much organize my life it holds magazines, bills, my home management binder, and so much more.... Well right now it is holding a whole lot more! It is the spot when we come in the door with full hands the mail gets thrown on, or my family drops stuff off and sets it there(especially my father in law, God Bless him). So today that hot spot is a hot mess! Guess what today's challenge is... get that hot mess under control. So what flat surface in your house collects misc items. Take a few minutes to clean it up today.

Daily Challenge
Yes, yes I know half the day is gone. Today I woke up feeling a little lousy( I keep praying it's not my turn to get sick). So I spent half my day on the couch...while I did that I resolved to be semi-productive so I have decided my challenge is to clean out my inbox. It is terribly overrun. So today clean out your emails, at least a few of them. This is just my kick off as next weeks daily challenges begin spring cleaning:)

Daily Challenge
I am proud to say that I have filled in my younger daughters baby book almost as much as my older ones. I find most parents (including myself) are so busy the second time around and things have become more routine that we fill out the first baby book with enthusiasm, but on the following of our children we tend to be a little more lax. I have put forth a real effort to try and keep up with the 2nd book. However, this past month she had her annual appointment(new height and weight), shes gotten several new teeth, as well as other events that I have not marked although I have definitely thought about it. So today's challenge is to do something you know you need to get done and for whatever reason it keeps getting pushed to the bottom of your to do list. Make that phone call, find all the info for you taxes, do whatever it is that you need to get done, but just keep putting off because of other commitments.

Mommy Tips & Tricks- No more squirting juice boxes
I have begun to love this segment of little tips and tricks to make a mom's (or dad's) life easier...today's was a tip a learned from my sister.If you have kids you likely deal with juice boxes, and if you have toddlers you likely deal with them squeezing and squirting juice out of their juice boxes. I used to drink a little out of the box before giving it to my daughter and then my sister taught me a neat little trick that had me saying YAY and DUH at the same time. Each juice has little tabs on the side of it. Simply pull those tabs up
Now when your child holds the juice they can hold the tabs instead of the box like this and not squeeze juice out.

For those of you who have been following me the past few weeks you know that our family was hit with some sickness, yuck. My girls were sick and though I love them dearly taking care of sick children is not the best part of being a parent. In addition to that all the house de-germing afterward can be exhausting.
So today of course my to-do list is as long as ever, but also I'm going to take a few minutes to myself today. If you are a mom you know that you don't get that often and when you do it is precious. So today pencil yourself in for just a few minutes of "me"time. Run to the bank while your hubby keeps the kids, paint your nails while the kids nap, order a pizza if cooking is not your passion. Today just do something for yourself. Remember you must take care of yourself to take care of your family.

Daily Challenge
It's Sunday, it's beautiful, and we have a fun day planned. I often start my day by telling my 3yr old what is in store for our day. I just love that when I say we have church she squeals "YAY". Then after we are going to visit with some family for my grandmothers birthday. We love hanging out with family, so today's challenge is to visit someone. Stomp and talk with a neighbor on your morning walk, take your kids to lunch with their grandparents after lunch, whatever it is just take a few minutes out of your day for someone else.
