Daily Challenge~Spring Challenge #20

For starters, TGIF!!! Yes, I mean that Thank You Jesus! I know you moms out there have totally had those weeks where you just CAN'T wait for the weekend. As I approach the last few hours of my weekday I am feeling excited! So my goal today is make it to the weekend:)

HaHa no I'm kidding. Today's goal is to wipe down the glass in  my living room. I have a screen door that has been colored on thanks to crayola window crayons and the Easter Bunny. I also have end tables with glass inserts in the top. Since we have no  dinning room while under construction, all of the kids keep there sippy cups on my end tables.... you can only imagine how beautifully spotted they look right? While I am at it I may as well clean my picture frames. So hop to it today and finish up your tasks so you can enjoy your weekend!

$5/$25 PetSmart

I Love PetSmart. Even before I began bargain hunting I often purchased the food for our dogs at PetSmart because they were usually the best price. Now that I really shop for the best deals I find most times they still beat their competitors. Well, today they offered up a new $5/$25 coupon and you can bet I will be printing it off my next trip there. Right now head over here to print your coupon.

Note: There is also a $5 Grooming Coupon available that you may want to take advantage of!

 KEEP MY SANITY!

Oh no really that's already gone:) haha

So recently I cleaned out the toys put some away, wiped them down, figured out some new ways to store things. As I was doing this I noticed some  spots on the hardwood floors where the kids play. Now I know very well that these are spots from sippy cup leakage. So today I spent my morning wiping these down and since I was well on my way I wiped down all the visible wall space as well:) This makes my toy space mostly complete(for now until we are able to move into the actual toy room soon!)

Mommy Tips & Tricks~ Vinegar Wipes

I'm sure if any of you are moms to girls who are (or once were) young and potty trained you can relate to an issue we have been having in our home. My beautiful 3 year old has been potty trained for a year now (thank you Jesus!) and while I am glad to no longer have to buy and tote diapers for her we have arrived at a new problem for her. As most young girls she does not "wipe" herself well enough after using the facilities.

Now I am a mom who does not care for medicated creams and products full of unnatural chemicals. I  had been giving her vinegar baths a few times a week and while it was helping the issue it was not solving it. After battling the yeast issue for awhile we have decided to make & use vinegar wipes. These have become an awesome lifesaver.  After, seeing first hand how much improvement we had I decided to share with other moms out there the steps I used to make them. They are simple and only take a few minutes as well as products you typically have around the house.

First I started with a regular empty wipes container, on the top I wrote Vinegar Wipes for differation.

Then I cut several paper towels into pieces and stacked them in.

I created a mixture of 1 cup water, 1 tsp white vinegar, 1 tsp baby soap
(I have been told you can also add 1 tsp oil to the mixture, however I didn't with mine)

Simply pour the mixture over the paper towels and allow them to absorb, you may need to add more paper towels depending upon wetness.

Now you have vinegar wipes and are ready to use. For us we use them 2-3 times a day.

Note: I am not a medical professional just a mom who prefers holistic measures to commercial medicine.  My doctor loves that I make & use these, but if you have any doubt please consult with your pediatrician/physician.

I'm becoming an Aunt (AGAIN!)

My twin sisters both announced their pregnancy's last year and while child has blessed our family already the second is due to make his/her appearance in May. This will be my sisters so this weekend we are planning to shower her with lots of love, comfort, and gifts as she prepares for her little ones arrival. As the big sister I have lots of  to-do's to help prepare for this event so today I will be wrapping game prizes, preparing gift baskets to raffle, and creating the favors. What extra (irregular) things do you have on your plate right now? Maybe you are throwing a party, singing a special music in church, or planning a family vacation. Whatever it is  cross some of those extras off your list today by getting them done!

Daily Challenge~ Spring Challenge #18

Many of you know that we have done a huge home remodel over the past year. Right now all of our toys are in the living room awaiting their new home that will be in the (hopefully) completed soon. In the meantime I am feeling overrun with toys. First is Christmas and then both of my girls have birthdays, one in January, one in February, then comes Easter...by April the toy chaos is more than I can handle. So today's challenge will be to purge/organize the toys. It is time to decide what toys are "too young" and need put away(We intend to have more children so we keep our favorites). Also what needs to be put in the donate and/or sale piles. While you're at it grab a rag and wipe down some toys. My kids have a tendency to put their juice cups in their baby strollers(don't ask I don't understand:) and sure enough they always have a little juice in them so clean up the toys while you are at it. You( trying to convince myself here haha:) will feel so much better when it's done!
